Hello! I am really excited to be blogging about this card. This has to be one of my new favorite cards to assemble lately because it is so simple to make and the ideas you can use seem to be endless. Don't you just LOVE when this happens!?!?! The
Seahorse Stamp Set is a digital stamp that I used to make this card.
- One 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock
- One 3" x 8" piece of cardstock
- One 2 3/4" x 4" pieces of cardstock or designer paper (optional)
- One 4" x 5 1/4" piece of of cardstock or designer paper (optional)
- One 2 3/4" x 4" piece of cardstock or designer paper (optional)
- Additional cardstock
- Scoring tool
- Adhesive
- Stamps
- Ink
Score your 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" piece of cardstock at 5
1/2". This is my dark brown card stock. Then I took my embossing folder and embossed the 3" side and corner rounded the corners.
Score your 3" x 8" piece of cardstock at 4". I folded my cardstock on my scored line and took my "Wonky" spellbinders and left the creased edge right under where the end cuts and then sent it through the Cuttlebug to cut out the wonky rectangle.
On your 4"x 5 1/4" piece of paper I sponged a brown ink with a dauber to give it some definition. Adhere your 4" x 5 1/4" piece of designer paper on the inside
of the card.
I took the next smallest Wonky spellbinder than what I used before and cut out one piece from the paper I used for the background of the 4" x 5 1/4". I sponged those using the same brown ink and dauber as before. Then adhere it to the inside of the 3"x8" folded cardstock
piece. On the front of this I printed the quote from the digital stamp collection and cut it out using a different Spellbinders. I took the next size up of the same spellbinders and cut the same design from my background paper. I daubed the edges with the same brown ink and adhered the same shaped images together and adhered it to the front of the 3"x8" Wonky rectangle.
- Add adhesive to the back of your smaller flap and tape it to the inside of
the card. Make sure the fold of the smaller flap is pointing to the
right.
To secure the flap from opening I used the pink seahorse from the digital stamp collection above and adhered it to the front of the card with dimensionals slightly over the edge of the smaller flap
to keep it closed.
Print and adhere another seahorse to the inside of the card and you are ready to write your note.
As you can see this card is very simple to put together and takes no time at all! Hope you enjoyed this card.
Love it Carrie!! I do like this fold and forgot about it...will have to do it again:)
